Welcome to Southern Wisconsin Buckskin Association!
The Southern Wisconsin Buckskin Association Inc, known as SWBA, is a charter club of the American Buckskin Registry Association.
American Buckskin Registry Association, known as ABRA, is the oldest active Buckskin registry in existence. Although the registry is called American Buckskin, it is a world wide registry. ABRA was organized in 1963, then reorganized and incorporated in 1965. It is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to collect, record and preserve the pedigrees of Buckskin, Dun, Red Dun and Grulla horses and ponies. ABRA has been an exceptional example of enthusiasm and cooperation for the common goal: the promotion of the Buckskin horse!
ABRA provides the Buckskin enthusiast with a wide range of opportunities to prove and show Buckskin horses. ABRA points may be accumulated in ABRA approved shows where owners can earn points toward numerous awards. To honor outstanding achievements and establish a record of exceptional conformation and performance, the ABRA has organized an elaborate and prestigous award system. Among these awards are Honor Roll, Register of Merits, Superiors, Bronze, Silver, Gold Medallions, Champion titles and the most prestigious and coveted honor of ABRA is the Supreme Champion Award.
SWBA is an organization that provides an avenue for its members to compete in Wisconsin, offering shows with a full slate of ABRA approved classes for Open, Youth and Amateur exhibitors as well as ALL COLOR all breed classes to serve all types of horse enthusiasts.
